“Cool Skepper”

Lucky Orphans would like to introduce you to Cool Skepper aka Siri!

Born in 2001 and registered as Cool Skeeper, Siri's story is one of incredible strength and resilience. When her daughter, Tula, was just a foal, they faced a terrifying encounter with a mountain lion. In a display of fierce maternal instinct, Siri bravely fought off the predator, ensuring the safety of both herself and her young foal.

Siri arrived at LOHR in 2016, seeking refuge with her daughter Tula. Sadly, Siri's vision began to deteriorate due to a genetic condition common in her breed. To ensure her safety, we made the decision to house her with our herd of miniature horses, who act as her devoted "seeing-eye buddies."

Despite her visual impairment, Siri remains a confident and spirited mare. She navigates her paddock with ease, proving that blindness does not limit her ability to enjoy life to the fullest.
