Cody
Lucky Orphans Horse Rescue would like to introduce you to Cody!
Cody came to live at Lucky Orphans in the Summer of 2007. Her hoof care was long overdue. Her hooves looked like elf shoes! Since Cody was hard to catch, nobody bothered to try and catch her for much needed hoof maintenance. Her owner had small children to look after, so Cody's hooves were neglected. When Cody was brought to the sanctuary, the vet and farrier recommended euthanasia, feeling that Cody would never walk, let alone be ridden. We had faith that with the proper care and love, Cody would recover. The farrier worked diligently, every other week, filing the elf shaped dishes. After a year of living in a stall, and being hand walked, Cody was fully recovered!
In her time at LOHR she has competed at countless shows, won championship ribbons, and changed many children’s lives. We put faith in her, and she has returned the favor ten-fold. Today Cody is enjoying a more retired lifestyle and continues to represent our commitment to all animals in our care.
